The Sequim Aquatic and Recreational Center is also a frequented and fine facility for area residents. The SARC has a full size Olympic pool, shallow pool, sauna, hydro therapy pool, and a water slide for the children. There is also a gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, aerobics and karate classes, as well as racquetball courts.

For outdoor enthusiasts, nearby Puget Sound, the Pacific Ocean and spectacular Lake Crescent in addition to the Olympic National Park and Forest are natural playgrounds offering endless recreational opportunities. This portion of the National Park region lies in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and contains some of the driest ecosystems on the Olympic Peninsula yet only 80 miles away is the Olympic Rain Forest with the greatest rainfall in the continental U. The name Sequim means “quiet waters” in the native language of the local S’Klallam tribe.
